AI Reconstructions. Not Real Statements.

Legends Library creates source-grounded AI interpretations of how historical and public figures may have reasoned about modern questions. These outputs are not real statements, endorsements, communications, or authorized messages from the people depicted.

When we use phrases like "Ask MLK" or "What would Lincoln say?", that language is shorthand for a source-grounded AI reconstruction based on available writings, speeches, interviews, letters, books, and other approved materials.

Legends Library is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to any estate, foundation, institution, campaign, publisher, family, or rights holder unless explicitly stated.

AI Personas Are Interpretive Reconstructions

The figures on Legends Library are not the real people. They are AI-generated interpretations built from source libraries.

The system may produce:

  • Direct historical answers when the source record clearly addresses a topic
  • Modern inferences when applying a figure's documented ideas to a new issue
  • Lower-confidence answers when the available evidence is limited
  • Refusals or uncertainty notes when the source record is too weak

No answer should be treated as proof that the actual person would have said, believed, endorsed, or supported the output.

Sources, Citations, and Limits

Legends Library is designed to ground answers in primary sources whenever possible, including speeches, letters, books, essays, interviews, transcripts, and verified writings.

Citations are provided to help users evaluate the answer. However, citations do not guarantee that every inference is correct. Historical interpretation can be contested, incomplete, or uncertain.

Users should treat answers as educational and interpretive content — not as definitive historical authority.

Confidence Labels

Answers may include a confidence label: Strong, Inferred, or Refused. These labels reflect how strongly the available source material supports the answer; they are not guarantees of truth.

  • Strong generally means the figure addressed the topic, or a closely related principle, directly.
  • Inferred generally means the answer applies the figure's documented ideas to a modern issue the figure did not directly address.
  • Refused means the source record was too thin to answer honestly, so the figure declined.

No Professional Advice

Legends Library is for education, commentary, entertainment, and historical exploration.

The service does not provide legal, financial, medical, psychological, religious, political campaign, or professional advice. Do not rely on Legends Library as a substitute for qualified professional guidance.

No False Attribution

Users may not present AI-generated responses as real quotes, real statements, endorsements, or communications from the actual person.

If you share a Legends Library answer, you should preserve the context that it is an AI-generated, source-grounded reconstruction.

Public Figures, Likeness, and Endorsement

Any names, portraits, descriptions, or references to historical or public figures are used for identification, commentary, education, and historical analysis.

Illustrations, where used, are artistic representations and do not imply endorsement, authorization, sponsorship, or affiliation.

Legends Library does not claim that any person, estate, foundation, publisher, organization, or rights holder has approved the service unless explicitly stated.

Source Materials and Copyright

Legends Library builds source libraries from lawfully acquired, licensed, public-domain, user-provided, or otherwise permitted materials.

Quoted excerpts are intended to be brief, attributed, and used for commentary, education, research, and analysis.

Users may not use Legends Library to extract, reconstruct, bulk-download, or reproduce copyrighted works or source libraries.

Rights holders may contact us at support@legendslibrary.ai with concerns.

AI Can Be Wrong

AI-generated outputs may contain errors, omissions, incorrect inferences, misread context, or unsupported conclusions.

We use retrieval, citations, confidence labels, and verification steps to reduce these issues, but no system is perfect.

Users should review cited sources and apply their own judgment.

No Synthetic Voice or Video

Legends Library does not use any synthetic voice, generated video, avatars, or realistic depictions.
